After learning about sharks, the students voted to create a hammerhead to add to our ocean environment!  We had so much fun creating a construction plan and researching hammerheads!

100 Days Smarter

Today we celebrated the 100th Day of School and being 100 days smarter!  We enjoyed reading 100 day books, playing a 100 day math game, eating a snack, drawing ourselves at 100 years old, and completing 100 exercises.  We also had fun using the Aging Booth App to envision ourselves at 100 years old.

Physical Map and Volcanoes

After arriving in Mexico, we learned about the many land forms in Mexico.  The students created a physical map and voted on the land form they would like to learn about first.

Volcanoes

The students chose to learn about volcanoes first!  We studied volcanoes through teacher led research, student research, pictures, and videos.  We created a volcano for our classroom and experimented with an eruption.  The students also documented their learning by labeling pictures of volcanoes and through writing.
