Thanksgiving Parade and Samford Students Visit

We celebrated Thanksgiving with a Kindergarten Thanksgiving Parade today!  Our class represented the Mayflower and Pilgrims!  We had so much fun walking around the school and waving to the other grades during the parade.

Welcome to The Rainforest

This week we began learning about the rainforest.  We learned about the layers of the rainforest and some rainforest plants.  We began creating our rainforest environment for out classroom by making lianas (vines) and epiphytes (air plants).

Volcanoes

Over the past few week we have been learning about volcanoes!  We have read books and completed teacher led research online.  The students have learned SO MANY new facts about volcanoes!  We created a web of our learning and also created a volcano diagram complete with student typed labels.

Fall Fun Day and Book Buddies

We had so much fun at our Kindergarten Fall Fun Day last week!  We got our faces painted, listened to music and sang songs, played games, decorated a cookie, picked a pumpkin from our "pumpkin patch", and completed pumpkin science experiments!

Last week we met with our fifth grade book buddies for the first time!  We look forward to reading with them throughout the year!
