Day of The Dead
Last week we read about The Day of The Dead, a holiday celebrated in Mexico, and compared and contrasted it to Halloween traditions. We learned that skulls and skeletons are symbols of the The Day of The Dead. The students made their own calavera masks to take home!

Mexico Physical Map
This week we studied the physical landforms and features in Mexico. We created a physical map together as a class and also created individual ones to add to our Mexico notebooks. The students had time to explore nonfiction books about each landform and discuss together in small groups and as a class. At the end of the week we voted on which landform we'd like to lean about first and volcanoes won! We will begin learning about volcanoes next week!
